It looks like the last pull of the season really turned out to be he best pull of the season. The sled didn't break, the scales weighed as they should and everything went as we hoped it would. The weather was cool, but it was a beaufiful fall day. We had a good turnout of all size tractors and had a total of 101 hooks. The 8000 and 9000# classes had the most pullers with 10 hooks each. The ladies of the Ballard Baptist Church had some great food to enjoy. A special thanks to them for providing this service. Thanks to everyone that came and enjoyed the day and helped in any way to make the pull a success.
As we look back, I feel this has been a season of great accomplishments. Even though our membership has continued to decline,we have made great progress. Just a little over 6 months ago we didn't have a track at Ballard to pull on. Thanks to Ballard Fire Department for the use of their property, Columbia Gas Transmission for their generous donation, KL Vass Construction for his work and donation, we now have a new track and a building to store our equipment in.
Over the winter, I challenge each and every member to talk to their friends, their wives, their kids and try to encourage them to become a member of our association and take part in the sport of antique pulling. We have a great group with a good track, good equipment ,but we need more members and younger members for us to continue. This club has been in operation since 1993 (22Years). Too much hard work and money has been spent to let it go away. Don't let it happen.
